DRESDEN/ DRESDEN STRIEZELMARKT

Pat and I decided to use Explore Europe Travel for the first time. We booked a trip to the Dresden Christmas Market, one of the oldest documented Christmas Markets.
The city was absolutely amazing! The Christmas Market just made Dresden that more amazing to see for the first time.
We started off with a tour of the city of Dresden and learned some of the cities history. Our tour guide was full of Information on the 2 hour tour.

             Dresden Frauenkirche
            Church of Our Lady

13th Century Church of the Holy Cross
                   Kreuzkirche
The oldest Church within Dresden's town walls

The Georgentor and the Procession of Princes
A 101 meter long portrait of the Dukes, Electors, and Kings of the house of Wettin.

As You can see it was pretty full of people
I cant remember the name of this place but it was one of my favorites.

Love seeing the people in the city doing different things.

Dresdner Striezelmarkt
Dresden Christmas Market
The word Striezelmarkt comes from the name Strüzel or Stroczel, which is what we now know as Stollen.

Kids ferris wheel at the Striezelmarkt

Weihnachtspyramide
                                                                  Christmas Pyramid
I remember the first time i ever saw one was in the movie "National Lampoons: Christmas Vacation"
                                                               I love this giant one

The Middle of it all!
As you can see its jam packed.

Too Much Glühwein

As our day came to an end we were able to enjoy a few lights before leaving.

All in all much fun was had by both of us and our friends who were with us as well. This Christmas Market has 3 or 4 Christmas Markets in the city. One of the Markets is a Medieval one. It gets very packed especially in the evening. It is huge. I would absolutely go back just to see a little more of the city, and see more of the beautiful architecture that is there.

Heres a few links to check out about the city:
