DACHAU CONCENTRATION CAMP

On our way home from our marriage retreat at Edelweiss we decide to stop one last place, Dachau Concentration Camp.
Dachau was one of the first Nazi concentration camps opened in Germany. It is located about 10 miles outside of Munich. It was opened in 1933 by Heinrich Himmler. There were 32,000 documented deaths at the camp, thousands more were undocumented. The camps were liberated by U.S. forces April 29,1945. It was closed for use in 1960.
There are several religious Memorials, within the memorial site.
